This collection, which includes sun tan lotions, sunscreens and insect repellants, is totally natural, made in St. Lucia, and contains wonderful ingredients such as oils of coconut, sweet almond and botanical extracts of ginko. The 100% natural SunShield Sunscreens are made using a unique formula with natural zinc oxide in a new patented transparent form, which therefore rubs into the skin quickly and easily. If you are concerned about the effect of chemicals in sunblocks and the possible reaction of these ingredients with the sun and your skin, then this is the range for you! Many healthcare practitioners believe that a Sun Protection Factor of 15 (SPF 15) is basically all that is needed for overall protection from the sun. An SPF 15 blocks 93.3% of the sun’s UVB rays, while an SPF 30 blocks 96.7%. Therefore, the SPF 15 provides a level of maximal screening of the suns rays, and SPF values above this point give less and less added protection.
